The Rotary Club of Cambridge held its annual Charity Golf Day last Tuesday the 8th November 2011, and what a great success it was!
There were 20 teams participating, and the winning four-ball turned out to be the team from BGC – one of the tournament’s sponsors! Mind you, it was their eleventh attempt, so it just goes to show that perseverance pays off!
The Town of Cambridge was the Major Sponsor, and they were joined by ten other sponsors, and our thanks go to all of them for their great support. We also received donations of prizes from numerous sources, and we are most grateful for that assistance as well.
My personal thanks go to the many members of our Club who assisted in so many ways – as players, donors, photographers, providers of administrative help, parcel wrappers and so on, but I would especially like to single out the one person who drove the project and put in an enormous amount of effort. I refer, of course, to Manny Petrelis. Well done Manny; you did a great job and I and all the members of the Club are very proud of you. Thank you so much for your time and commitment.
